As a team, JYJ & TVXQ were quite a formidable force, dominating charts in both Korea and Japan. Despite tension between the two groups, both groups are showing that they’re still quite formidable as two separate units.
HMV Online, one of Japan’s largest online music portals updates their daily ranking chart on their website. The daily ranking chart is based off of sales figures for the day and both JYJ / TVXQ dominated this chart.
JYJ took spots #1 (preorder for Music Essay THEIR ROOMS), #2 (preorder for Memories in 2010 DVD), #6 (preorder for MEMORIES IN 2010 DVD +THANKSGIVING LIVE IN DOME LIVE CD), and #8 (Featured in K☆BOOM March 2011).
TVXQ took spots #3 – #5, and #21 (Various editions of Why? Keep Your Head Down).
The only non JYJ / TVXQ spots in the top 10 were taken by EXILE (#7), KARA (#9), and AKB48 (#10), who are quite formidable themselves. Congratulations to both TVXQ and JYJ, it’s good to see support for both groups despite the recent events.

The boys of TEEN TOP have recently unveiled their second MV teaser for their upcoming comeback track, “Supa Love“.
While the majority of the video does focus on the cameo made by Shinhwa’s Eric, TEEN TOP drops down at the last minute onto a stylish stage. Speaking of sets, does Eric’s stage remind anyone of the labs from Resident Evil?
If their white hair hasn’t already indicated that they’re going for a futuristic look, this MV teaser will definitely get that concept across.
‘Chic idols’ MBLAQ has finally revealed their album jacket photos for their first official album, “BLAQ Style.”
After releasing the first of their two title tracks, “Cry,” on January 3rd, the members will be returning on the 10th with “Stay“, which is described to have an addictive melody that will never leave your head.
The group will be holding their first fan meeting on the afternoon of the 9th, in which they’ll be performing their double title tracks for the first time for their fans. The release of their official album will follow on the 10th.
Recently, vocalist Niel suffered a knee injury and T.O.P Media decided to delay their comeback date do the 13th. Despite this setback, they still went ahead and released a teaser music video for their title track, “TRANSFORM.“ Now, TEEN TOP’s official website was updated once again with another concept image.
Text translated as: [TRANSFORM] “Brand new style that will upgrade into a completely new image.”
Coordinating with their album release earlier today, INFINITE has revealed the music video for their title track, “BTD (Before the Dawn)“!
Although there were concerns about the video having strong violence scenes, it’s undeniable that they contribute to making the overall video an intense, if not highly excitable, work. The boys are seen trying to escape from a twisted labyrinth, and the song (with its fusion of electronic sound and heavy guitar) is utilized perfectly to quicken the viewer’s heartbeat.
During a recent interview, Big Bang’s G-Dragon and T.O.P were asked to pick members who had the most and least interest in women lately.
For the member who showed the most interest in the ladies lately, G-Dragon answered with a laugh, “All of them have interest in women, but Taeyang especially has been showing a lot of interest after singing ‘I Need A Girl.‘”
Taeyang’s well known in the Big Bang fandom to be shy and innocent, which contrasts with the sexy choreography he tends to perform on stage with girls. G-Dragon continued, “It feels like Taeyang has finally opened his eyes to the world of women. He never even used to go to locations where girls were present, but now he fits in well and is even in the center of discussion when conversing with them. It makes me feel so proud seeing him chat with girls.”
Meanwhile, T.O.P was asked to choose a member with the least interest, and he decided upon Seungri. He reasoned, “It feels like Seungri has lost interest in them since he’s well aware of his career as a celebrity.”
The duo were then asked about their ideal women, in which G-Dragon replied, “Someone that makes me feel comfortable upon first sight.” T.O.P answered, “A wise woman that handles herself well enough to express her unique charms.”
Big Bang has been holding their annual brand concert, “Big Show,” every January since 2008, but for this year they’re planning to hold it in February so that it could coincide with the group’s comeback.
The boys finally released a teaser video for the three-day concert, to build anticipation for its opening show on February 25th at the Olympic Athletics Stadium. The concert itself has been widely popuar with both fans and industry representatives alike, as it always featured the best possible performances.
A YG Entertainment representative previously explained, “This year’s ‘Big Show’ will feature not only Big Bang’s newest tracks, but GD&TOP and Seungri’s mini-album as well.”
B2ST has announced that they will be embarking on an encore run of their highly successful “B2ST Airline” concert!
The announcement was put up on the morning of January 6th through Cube Entertainment’s official homepage and through B2ST fancafes as well.
The concert was a huge success last year – it was hyped successfully through clever marketing, and the boys delivered impressive performances. It was even picked as the #1 concert music fans wanted to attend, according to a concert ticketing website.
Unfortunately, only 10,000 fans could attend the first concert, but B2ST plans to give fans another opportunity to catch the event through their Asian tour. Titled, “Welcome BACK to BEAST Airline“, the boys will kick off the tour with a two-day concert at Seoul’s Olympic Athletics Stadium on February 18th and 19th.
Details on the rest of the concert dates have yet to be revealed, but international fans are queuing up for tickets to the Seoul shows.
