Kim Hyun Joong to release an album next year

It has been announced that SS501’s Kim Hyun Joong will release an album next year with his new label, Keyeast.

On the 26th, a press conference was held for the drama Playful Kiss.

At the conference, Kim Hyun Joong stated, “The reason why I moved to Keyeast was because I could act and sing at the same time.”

He then revealed his future plans to continue as a singer, stating, “It’s not for sure yet, but I am in training for an upcoming album. I do not know if it will be a solo album or a group, but by the looks of it, there will be a higher chance of being it a solo.”

A reporter asked about his status with SS501, which he replied, “Nothing is decided. No one knows if we will come out with an album in the future, so I don’t know why everyone keeps saying we disbanded.”

There is a good possibility that the album will be with all five members.

SS501’s Kim Hyung Joon joins S-Plus Entertainment

It’s official: SS501 member Kim Hyung Joon has transferred entertainment companies to S-Plus Entertainment, which includes Kang Ji Hwan and Jo Sung Mo.

On the 27th, S-Plus Entertainment held a phone interview with AsiaE’s Sports Today, revealing, “Kim Hyung Joon recently signed a contract with us and has begun his activities with us.”

As a company that works with other companies in Asia, such as in Japan, S-Plus Entertainment plans to further expand through the recruitment of Kim Hyung Joon. It has been reported that while talking about his contract with S-Plus, plans for Kim Hyung Joon’s promotions in Japan and other Asian countries were also naturally discussed.

Despite Kim Hyung Joon’s transfer to a new entertainment company, S-Plus has reassured fans that SS501 is not splitting, saying,

“Just because Kim Hyung Joon ended his contract with his previous company, this definitely does not mean that SS501 is breaking up. … In the discussions about his contract, the point that Kim Hyung Joon first and foremost emphasized was that he stays as a member of SS501 and continues all activities with them … The entertainment company will respect opinions of Kim Hyung Joon as a fellow artist of the company, 100%.

Despite the rest of SS501 being under the management of another company, Kim Hyung Joon will, as a member of SS501, put SS501’s activities as the first priority and participate in all their activities, domestic and international … S-Plus also plans to cooperate and whole-heartedly support all activities of SS501.”

A representative of S-Plus also included a message for fans, saying, “Please continue your care for Kim Hyung Joon and love for SS501.”

With Kim Hyun Joong, Park Jung Min, and Hyung Joon already with new agencies, Kim Kyu Jong and Heo Young Saeng are the only free agents now.

SS501 to turn into SS301?

Following confirmation about Kim Hyun Joong leaving DSP Entertainment for Keyeast, more information regarding SS501’s future have been revealed today.

It’s been revealed that fellow SS501 member Park Jung Min will also leave DSP Entertainment, possibly SS501 as well, to pursue his acting career with another management agency.

It is now looking like SS501 will now turn into SS301, a group consisting of Kim Hyung Joon, Kim Kyu Jong and Heo Young Saeng that promoted during 2008 with U R Man.

It’s known that while Park Jung Min is showing interest in pursuing his acting career, the rest of the three members are prefering to stay as a group rather than having solo careers although they are also looking for a new agency.

This will mean that all of the members of SS501 are no longer with DSP Entertainment, an agency they debuted through.

SS301’s Kim Hyung Joon, Kim Kyu Joong and Heo Young Saeng are now being looked upon by many agencies in the FA (free agent) market as they have left DSPE. The three have already received offers from different agencies, but the members are looking for a trustworthy agency.

A representative stated, “The contract itself is important, but the members are looking for an agency they can trust, an agency that is attractive.”

If the SS501 members indeed all go to separate agencies, it’s looking like it’ll take a while until we see SS501 promote again.

Albeit all the reports, the members are reportedly not in any arguments with each other, and they want to keep SS501 alive. Especially with the amount of success SS501 has in Korea as well as overseas, so there’s still a possibility that SS501 will not disband.

Kim Hyun Joong confirmed to leave DSP Entertainment

For the past couple of months, there have been rumors circulating that SS501’s leader Kim Hyun Joong would leave his agency DSP Entertainment once his contract comes to an end.

Well, it’s been confirmed that this one is true after all.

A related source confirmed on the 28th, “Kim Hyun Joong has decided not to renew his contract with DSP Entertainment. … He will move to another agency.” It’s also been reported that Hyun Joong will enter Keyeast (키이스트), an agency known for its prominent actors including Bae Yong Joon, Park Ye Jin, Bong Tae Gyu, Lee Bo Young, Lee Na Young and Hwanhee, so it’s very likely that Hyun Joong’s career will take the acting route.

Due to Kim Hyun Joong’s decision to leave DSPE, there are now questions about the rest of the members of SS501. Many wonder if this will mark the end of SS501, or whether the rest of the members will follow the routes of Shinhwa and g.o.d and complete promotional activities together with Hyun Joong under different agencies.

UPDATE: According to new reports, DSPE hasn’t decided whether SS501 will gain a new member or become a quartet, implying that, although Hyun Joong will be leaving the group, his departure won’t mark the end of SS501. As the rest of the

members of SS501 are working on renewing their contracts with DSPE, fans can only hope for the best until an official statement is released.

Highlights of the Brothers

Do you quarrel often when you were still kids?

(Hyung Jun) There wasn't once when we have a big fight. Of course, there were times when we had disagreements on things. Oh yes, when Ki Bum changed my car plate number, we did have a quarrel. (Laughs)

(Ki Bum) If we started a cold war, we would just go back to face the computers (there are 4 computers at home). And a chat window would pop up with words like "Sorry" and the reply would be "I understand" and we wouldn't be angry with each other anymore.

Were there any interesting episodes during your childhood years?

(Ki Bum) During my elementary years, I saved up my allowances for emergency uses, but I found out one day that the money was gone. Initially, I didn't know why but later found out that my brother took them to play computer games. But now things have turned around. Brother often gave me money. Brother is the major pillar (breadwinner) of our household.

Now that both of you are staying together, who does the cooking?

(Ki Bum) Because both our schedules are different, we practically have no time to eat together. If we were to eat together, I have to take care of my brother. When he cooks ramyun, he would put 3L of water, really cannot trust him ah

(Hyung Jun) I'm always carrying a grateful attitude whenever I eat what Ki Bum has prepared for me, especially his fried egg, it's superb.

Seems like the younger brother takes good care of the elder brother?

(Hyung Jun) I'm a chatterbox type (note: meaning he talks alot) and I live life relaxedly (note: can also mean lazily / in a slack manner). So Ki Bum always listen to me quietly. At home, sometimes one would be confused as to who is actually the elder brother.

How do you spend your time together?

(Hyung Jun) We play computer games together frequently and would also compose music together and gave constructive feedback to one another. Although we can play and joke crazily but when it's time to work, we do it seriously.

Can you point out the strengths and weakness of each other without holding back?

(Hyung Jun) He's different from me. He has a good sense of thrift. As for his weakness- he doesn't behave like a younger brother.

(Ki Bum) Firstly, his strength is that he was born earlier than me. No matter how you look at it, it is still 3 years. As for his weakness, he is too slack. When he is at hme, he lives as though he is without a soul. Oh yes, he has another strength. He is very handsome.

What do you think is the advantage of being the elder brother/ younger brother?

(Hyung Jun) From how I see it, I think being a younger brother is better than an elder one. Because he is always by my side giving me support, it makes me feel stable.

(Ki Bum) When we were young, because our parents dotes on Brother more, so I was very jealous. Now that I'm living together with Brother, we can understand each other more. The advantage is if we get into trouble together, Brother would be the first to be punished.

Life as an Idol

No objections when the younger brother wanted to become a singer?

(Hyung Jun) Firstly, I was very worried. I went through the experience of being a trainee for 5 years, and endured many hardships during that phrase. But Ki Bum was very sure of what he wanted, and he worked very hard towards it. Now each of us are doing quite well.

Did it help alot to have an elder brother as a senior singer?

(Ki Bum) When I first wanted to become a singer, he did help with providing chances here and there for auditions.Now I'm already part of a entertainment company, debuted as a member of U-KISS. If not because of Brother, I may not be able to be who I am now.

Being the Idol group Brothers, how did it feel to take part in a show together?

(Hyung Jun) Felt very proud. No matter what, it felt very good. (Laughs) Being able to share something in common spatially and temporally is a form of strength to me. Feels very satisfied to watch Ki Bum singing and performing on stage.

Not having plans to release an album together?

(Ki Bum) If there's an opportunity, will definitely want to release a Project album and then perform together on stage. So now we are composing songs for duets.

(Hyung Jun) I think if both our music becomes more matured musically, the opportunity will come.

"Because of different schedules, we only met at the broadcasting venue before the performance. Only after we met, did we realise that I wore the same jacket as Ki Bum. Family, brothers probably share a telepathy without the need for words --- Hyung Jun"
