JYJ’s Jaejoong beating Justin Bieber for “Best Celebrity on Twitter” at Shorty Awards

The Shorty Awards, the Twitter equivalent to television’s Golden Globes or Hollywood’s Oscars, is an annual competition to recognize “the best people and organizations on Twitter and social media.” But when the Shorty Awards organizers put together this year’s 3rd annual competition, they probably weren’t expecting such outright dominance by Korean celebrities.
As further evidence (as if we needed any) of K-pop’s global reach, K-pop celebrities are dominating the leaderboard for “Best Celebrity on Twitter“, with JYJ’s Jaejoong (@mjjeje) and Super Junior’s Heechul (@heedictator) taking 1st and 3rd place, respectively. Tween sensation Justin Bieber is ranked 2nd, Jay Park 5th (just beating Selena Gomez, who’s currently 6th), and fellow JYJ members Yoochun and Junsu bringing up the rear at 13th and 14th.

To his fans’ delight, Jaejoong sent in a homemade video of himself exercising his chest muscles. Many entertained devilish thoughts, as they took the exercising of his “chest” muscles in the wrong way…
The video then continued, as it showed an embarrassed Jaejoong telling the audience to not take what he’s saying in the wrong way. Hilariously, he tries to dispel his embarrassment by doing a short exercise routine with his cat, JiJi.

110124 Junsu Introduced As The Table Tennis King

Finishing his meal at 3:30 in the evening, Junsu bought a five grain cafe latte from Cafe Bean in Kangnam-Gu. Wearing only a thin leather jacket this whole time, it seems like Junsu has just realized how cold it is as he starts running back to the office.
After showing the people who were walking the streets of Nonhyondeon city the flying Korean star, Junsu reaches the office and goes in search of a table tennis table.

While playing Junsu explains that his spin wasn’t working as well as it did when he played at home, “Last year for my birthday Jaejoong and Yoochun got me the kind of ping pong table that I really liked. No matter what I said they ordered the best table for me. In order to fit the table in my living room, I had to move my wardrobe, treadmill, and sofa. But talented players need all the equipment they need.”

As Junsu leaves the cafe, he starts running in the direction of the office.
“It’s a little bit cold, that’s why”, he added.

TVXQ explains the meaning behind “Keep Your Head Down” on “Entertainment Relay”

VXQ made an appearance on KBS TV’s “Entertainment Relay” on January 8th, and shared how they felt about making their official return to the music industry.
When asked about how they felt during their first comeback appearance through “Music Bank” on the 7th, Yunho began, “My heart was beating so fast, it really can’t be explained in words. It felt like the way you feel right before you begin to cry. Thinking about it now, I still get a burst of emotions.”
Yunho was also asked about their lyrics for their title track, “Keep Your Head Down“, which is rumored to be referring to JYJ. Yunho answered, “The lyrics contain one man’s powerful message to overcome the hardships of breakup. We chose the title ‘Why’ in order to arouse curiosities.”
They continued, “It’s just a song about a man’s anger towards the woman that threw him away. That’s all.”
The duo concluded, “As much as it is our first time greeting everyone after a long while, we’ll be making sure to present more masculine performances that have more ‘weight’ to them.”

Juniors are touched by DBSK’s (changmin+yunho) humble acts

While there’s been a lot of buzz over TVXQ’s official comeback this week, representatives from within the music industry have also praised the duo for their impeccable manners and humility.
TVXQ completed their second comeback stage through MBC’s “Show! Music Core” on January 8th, and reportedly visited all the waiting rooms with autographed CDs in hand for the other singers.
Considering how they’ve been in the industry for seven years, this distinguishes them as ’seniors’ to most of the participants of the show. However, representatives were shocked at how they personally made a visit to each waiting room and made an effort to greet and reach out to everyone first.
One representative commented, “TVXQ suddenly came into our waiting room and greeted us, so I was very surprised. Their gazes weren’t one of arrogance, but full of genuineness.” One girl group member, who asked to remain anonymous, spoke with a reporter from Sports Today and commented, “The TVXQ seniors visited all of their juniors’ waiting rooms and greeted them. It was surprising, but also amazing. They’re seniors that I want to learn from.”
A lot of juniors were said to have been impressed by the act of respect the duo showed, instead of the haughtiness one would expect from people of their stature.
